A 3D Breakout Style Game (Retro Arcade)
Balls of Steel is a 3D version of the retro arcade game, Breakout, but with a subtle twist. The idea is to stay alive as long as possible - scoring as much as you can by destroying bricks - while the wall of bricks moves slowly down towards your paddle (unlike the original Breakout). The player has control over how many balls are in play at once BUT the speed of the wall increases as time elapses.
Controls:-
Paddle Movement - Drag with your finger
Release Ball - Press the 'B' icon
This is a Game Institute lab project intended to demonstrate to students how to create a simple Breakout game for Android and upload it to the Google Play store. Given the simplicity of this demonstration please don't expect too much :) This game was put together over a few hours for a video tutorial series at http://www.gameinstitute.com that demonstrates to new students how to build their very first simple games.
